Luis Brings Puerto Rico To Me  / Elsa Figueroa App (Coli's Best Friend and His Pain In The Ass )

I am so very grateful for having met Luis and still so ever grateful to still be great friends with his girl Coli.  I was so out of touch with my Puertorican roots until I met them in 1997, here in Newburgh. They opened their home to me and I was swept up into their very "lively" lifestyle.  They played Puertorican salsa, plena, with guitars, guiro, they taught me how to cook lechon, taught me how to fish for "El Peje" striper from the Hudson River and more.  We have had so much fun just sitting in the backyard cooking "a la barbacoa con la lena". It is such bullshit that he is no longer here. He was supposed to live forever. He now does in heaven and watches over his girl Coli and his two beautiful sons Luisito and Gigi...What a great dad he was to those boys....I remember when he would drive them back and forth to school, cook for them and teach them everything about ...what else..."mecaniar con el carro".....boating and fishing....
Luis would even watch Jeopardy with me and anwer some tough questions. He was so proud to be Puertorican and I am so proud to have ever known him. 
God bless you Luis...Missing you for ever...
PS Never forget Spring St. and Ramon, Dandee, Jr., Sujeto...playing Dominos and drinking Buds.

Remebering Luis.....  / Sarah Mirabile (Grand Nephew's Girlfriend )
Dear Luis,
It saddens me that you were chosen to leave all of us because to us it was all too soon. I know that you are in a better place and for sure that Rosa was on the other side with her arms out taking you home with her. It seems so strange to be in your home and you are not there. I can remember the first time I met you, you seemed like a man on a mission and that you were so into working on and completing the projects you had going on at your house. I learned very quickly that you were a great mechanic and that your boys were following you in the same footsteps. I must say you taught them very well because they are great in all that they do when it comes to mechanics and they have you to thank for that gift.
I remember going to your house for the first time when you had a cookout and I was shocked because you had a whole Pig roasting in that Pig roaster that you had made by yourself! I remember you singing and sitting around the table in the dining room you always sat at the chair closest to the window ( the head of the table) and you played your guitar while your friends sang and Raul always played the scraper instrument. ( I don't know what its called)
I know that barbecues,holidays, picnics, and family gatherings will never be the same without you. We will always miss you. You and Marcolina,Luisito,and Gigi are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Life will never be the same without you. I will miss all your jokes on mommy. I will miss your barbeques. I will miss you, playing your guitar and singing with all your friends. Foremost I will miss how you always made the family complete. You were always there for anyone that needed help from roofing, plumbing and fixing cars. How close you were to your sons made you a ideal father anyone could ask for. How much you loved your precious wife, Marcolina; she will be lost without you. 

Uncle Armando You will be sorely missed by everyone. Like I've said it will never be the same without you... You were a great friend, brother, son, uncle, cousin, and husband.
